Imam Khamenei asks President to examine proposal for lockdown
Following the letter written by the Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution regarding the fifth wave of Corona and his proposal for a two-week lockdown to reduce the spread of the virus and the hospitals’ workload, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution asked the President to pursue the matter in the National Committee on Combating Coronavirus and to take the necessary measures.
In his letter, His Eminence addressed President Rouhani and said, “Following the warning issued by the Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education and his proposal to impose a lockdown due to the pandemic, it is necessary for this issue to be examined by the National Committee on Combating Coronavirus and for every necessary measure to be taken.”
A copy of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s order has also been sent to the President-elect.
